I'm annoyed at the media. Mainly the American media. Australia just picks up on whatever they say, so it's really the American media's fault for spreading misinformation.

The bordering-ignorance coverage of "Cho Seung-Hui" and the sensationalism of the Virginia Tech tragedy is really starting to get to me.

What's worse is that it's giving people an excuse to be racist... when what is REALLY important is the actual tragedy, the victims, their families, the future... everything else.  But no, the media chooses to ethnicise and foreign-ise a Korean American who went by "Seung Cho," by not only writing is name in an ethnic way but continually referring to him as "South Korean student Cho Seung-Hui."

The only news organization that I feel has had legitimate coverage of the issue is TIME. Not only have they taken the time out to do their research, but they are also fully aware of what ethnicising Cho will do.

Don't mistake anything I write for sympathy for the killer. What he did was horrific and unforgiveable. I'm simply pointing out that this incident should not be linked to racial issues, because this has a negative impact on the Asian American community.

Did people start hurling white racial epithets when Columbine happened? I think not.

People in Ktown (like Chinatown, except Korean) in Los Angeles are getting their cars egged.
In Westwood, an educated college community, and someone pulled up next to a Korean student's car and asked if she was going to try to "kill [him] too"... This was not a joke.

I've heard of people being told to "Go home to Asia." I've read, all over the web, the bigotry and hatred that is leaving Asian Americans wondering what this means for them in normal public sphere.

How is it ok, and more importantly, how is it helpful to turn this situation into a catalyst for hate?

And all of this after just a week ago a national American radio host was fired for being racist.

What is even more nonsensical is that those people who are most bigoted are the ones who didnt even know anyone at VTech, victim or mourner. Those who were close to those victims, the students and faculty on campus trying to unite, anyone in Blacksburg right now is trying to remove all the hatred and negativity. That's so far from what they actually need.

As a nation, as a people, why aren't Americans trying to look at this as a tragedy that people need to heal from and eventually a way to bring good... if all it does is spur more hate, those students and those professors were really victimised in vain.

Hooray for strict Australian anti-firearm legislation. I love a sunburnt country.

i was in History. all the computers in the classroom were Dell computers. common knowledge; Dells are chat, just ask Ben Yeung xD so.. i wrote in pink highlighter on a piece of paper, "I AM A DELL AND THEREFORE I SUCK" and my friend taped it to a computer.

Mr Maiden comes along and asks "What's a Dell?"

ROFLMAO.

 

i was doing hw on the computer. Mum comes along and goes "You know there is a new kind of computer that's come out, called a Windows Vista"

CRINGE.

then she goes on to say... "But you have a Microsoft Word laptop, don't you? Made by Toshiba?"

like OMFG LOL.

 

 

i get obsessed with Se7en...so Ben starts listening to Se7en & soon realises he LOVES the music..

so i tell him.. "If you like Se7en, how about you listen to BigBang?"

MY BDAY...is on the 20th of March...9 days time

&& i need to plan a party.. it IS my 16th after all..

But now..the downside..

My mum saw my list of ppl I was going to invite.. && she`s like…”there are wayyy too meni guys,, im not gonnr let u invite guys to ur bday party”

..but.. she will lemme invite girls..&& go out to sum restaurant wiv them for dinna..

But the thing is

HOW CAN I NOT INVITE MY GUY FRIENDS…godbros && ppl like that inclusive..

That is just NOT HAPPENING.

So…

Ifff I hav a 2^nd party.. there will b no alcohol,, becos the only convenient place that will b unsuspecting is the cinemas..

Therefore.. my 2^nd party will b  something along the lines of a massive pay-for-yourself group thing,, with like 30 ppl…

It will seem lyk an ‘outing’ to my mum =P she wont kno that ANY guys r coming
